The Move Forward Keynote
I once had an audition in NYC where the director gave me a profound piece of advice. As I was reading from the teleprompter, he told me: "Do not stop if you mess up." I remember thinking to myself, "Wait, that’s an option?!"
It felt like a revelation, a concept I’d never truly grasped: Just keep going. I honestly thought that was the coolest, most liberating thing anyone could ever tell me about speaking. The magic isn't in avoiding the mistake, it’s in not stopping to acknowledge it. The coolest part is demonstrating your resilience—messing up, yet continuing, and making that moment a part of the bigger picture you're working toward. This concept—what I call “The Move Forward Mindset”—was born from finding and celebrating those mistakes. It mirrors the fundamental principle of improvisation: "Yes, And." Acknowledge what has happened, and build off of it.
This interactive keynote is designed to help your community put this adored concept into practice. It’s about combining all the elements of public speaking I’ve studied—breath control, delivery, stance, tone, and presence—and showcasing that it all comes down to getting your REPS in. Every time you think you've messed up beyond repair, we get back out there. Because, at some point, it becomes fun to mess up—you learn how to make it look intentional. The Move Forward Keynote is created for anyone who fears failure but is willing to take a chance with someone who will help guide them toward victory.
So, please, can we Move Forward together?
